We are not all born with oodles of body confidence. When we are young and probably the skinniest we ever will be, we still think we are fat. Or lumpy. Or just not right. Then as we get older we gain some confidence in ourselves and we develop ‘sod it’ status. But the body in the meantime has gone south. I mean why on earth do your boobs have to point at your feet. I know where they are. Tummys appear and refuse to budge unless you embark on a training regime the military would be proud of. And then we all wail…. I just want to be as fat as when I was skinny and thought I was fat.
In the winter we can hide under big jumpers and wraps but the summer is less forgiving. The answer my friend is coverups. Light, airy and easy to put on and off. Here the ones I am currently in love with.

This black tassel trim kimono from Dorothy Perkins is knee length with a V-neck. Ladder-lace trims and tasseled self-tie front fastening finish the front off and back keyhole on the reverse.

New Look – Black Crochet Beach Kaftan
I have this one order I love it so much. V neckline and 1/2 sleeves make this kaftan very easy to wear. Crochet fabric, split side hem and mini length finish it off. Also available in white too.

Dorothy Perkins – Beach Ivory Floral Tropical Print Maxi Dress
Finally, Iahve moved away from black and found some colour. I am rather new to wearing colour and have always steered towards black. No kidding you’re saying ? hey I was an 80’s child and we were brought up on black. Maxi length and cold shoulder style. Not normally a cold shoulder lover but think we can all show more skin in the summer and shoulders are quite safe. Frilled trims, split sides and elasticated sides are in this tropical floral print.
Fabric: 100% polyester
Care: machine washable

And yet more colour, this time in red. All-over Aztec print with a Bardot neckline and shirred trim. The front split is a bit different instead of a side split and is, of course, a maxi length.
